About a year ago I went to a friend’s wedding and watched her leave the reception in the middle of her first dance with her husband in tears. My friends and I quickly followed her to the bathroom, and found out why our best friend-the beautiful bride-was in tears on her wedding day. The DJ played the WRONG song for their first dance as husband and wife.
Sadly, this is something that could happen to you if you hire an inexperienced DJ. The fact is you get what you pay for. If you hire a family member or friend that will DJ your wedding for $200.00, you are possibly getting a DJ that does not have extra time to work on your music and may not know what he is doing. For this amount, you may be hiring someone who does not have quality equipment, experience at weddings, or even a back up plan! These factors can lead into a possibly stressful evening--and no bride wants that to happen on her wedding day!
I get it--weddings are expensive. You are trying to save money wherever you can. Think about it this way: would you hire a photographer for your wedding for only $200 bucks? Would you hire a photographer to document your once in a lifetime wedding day that had little to no experience in taking pictures? NO! So why would you hire a cheap DJ with little experience for your wedding day? You hire a DJ to help your wedding reception flow smoothly and to be the Master of Ceremonies so your guests know what is going on. You hire a DJ to interact with your wedding crowd and to help make magical memories you will remember forever. Hiring a professional DJ with wedding experience is key to having the best wedding reception!
Here at On-Site Productions we take pride in what we do! This is a full time career for our DJs-- so you can be sure that you will not have the same thing happen to you. Each DJ is properly trained to DJ weddings and other events and to emcee receptions. Our DJs always have a back-up plan, and arrives two hours in advance to set up and be ready for your wedding day!
For each bride, the DJ spends about 30 to 35 hours or more building an individual and customized play list, answering emails and phone calls, and organizing music details for each wedding. To make sure your wedding will flow smoothly and the correct songs are played, your DJ will give you a call about two or three weeks before your wedding and finalize all of your music details. He will check and double check all of the formal songs you have requested, and will make sure each song is played when it is suppose to. Your DJ at On-Site Productions takes great pride in making your wedding day flow smoothly, and makes sure you have a wedding day you will always remember!
While you are trying to save money where you can, skimping on the price of a professional DJ is not where you should try and save. Keep in mind you will get what you paid for--so make it matter--hire a professional DJ that will be sure to pull off the wedding of your dreams!
