A few weeks ago, one of our DJs worked a wedding that could have turned into a nightmare. He had talked with the bride before her wedding day. During that conversation, he finalized all of the music details, any announcements, and the little details that needed to be taken care of with the bride. He knew exactly what she wanted, and what needed to be done to make her wedding reception run smoothly.
The night of the reception the ‘coordinator’ started changing things--and our DJ knew these were changes the bride did not want! He politely told the coordinator that he discussed these details with the bride, and knew these were changes she would not like-- and then the 'coordinator' replied “oh, ok!” The DJ saw the ‘coordinator’ eating food, and did not tend to the bride during the night. We found out later that the coordinator was actually a friend of the bride--not a wedding coordinator at all. This amateur wedding coordinator could have ended up ruining the bride’s wedding day--luckily our DJ was there to save the night!
If you’re thinking about letting a friend help to coordinate your wedding day, this article is for you! Let your friend be in your bridal party, or enjoy the night as one of your guests--leave the job of a wedding coordinator to the professionals!
Of course having a wedding coordinator is an extra expense--but it is worth the extra cost!
Think of your wedding planner as your Fairy Godmother--she will make sure your wedding day is the fairytale wedding that you always imagined. Why should you hire a coordinator? Here’s why…

Your wedding planner knows the best vendors in the business, and likely has close knit relationships with those vendors. Your planner might can help you to get a discount from preferred vendors--which can save you money. Your planner will also make sure that you stick to the budget you set--and do not go a penny over your set budget.

It takes a bride countless hours to plan her wedding. A wedding planner can help take some of that stress away. They can plan and take care of all the little details so you don’t have to worry! Remember, a wedding coordinator will do as much or as little as you want them to do; and they will listen to what you want, and will help your wedding vision come to life.

The last thing you want on your wedding day is having people ask you a ton of questions. If you have a coordinator, you don’t have to worry about answering a zillion questions--your wedding coordinator can answer all of those questions for you!
