Did you watch the CMA Awards last Wednesday night?
I did, and the first ten minutes of the show was…legendary! It’s what country music dreams are made of, y’all! When they did the tribute to Randy Travis, and everyone—including the audience— started singing “Forever and Ever, Amen” I felt the emotion of the CMA stars. Randy made a rare appearance, and sang out “Amen” at the end it was so memorable; since he hadn't sung for several years following his stroke. That was a tear jerker!
I grew up on country, and I’m still a huge country music fan. Personally, I love old school country—the songs that tell a story. I guess that’s because what I grew up listening to—you know, like Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Dolly, and Loretta. Y’all, I saw Loretta perform at the Grand Ol’ Opry this year, and that was the highlight of my year.
I could go on and on about the CMA Awards 50! Nostalgia at its finest.
