It may still be 2016, but if you're getting married next year, you already have 2017 on the mind already!
If you’re tying the knot in 2017, you’ve probably had next year on your mind for quite some time.
The 2017 wedding trend forecast certainly won’t let you down! In 2017, we will be seeing lots of sequins, metallics, and greenery at weddings.
Draping & Lighting
Draping and lighting adds a “wow” factor to a wedding, and makes the perfect elegant look! With draping and lighting you can customize your look. Think about an altar with draping and a chandelier hanging above as you say your vows. Talk about a gorgeous altar!
The days of matchy-matchy bridesmaids dresses are long gone. These days, brides are letting their ‘maids choose a dress they like, which coordinates into a particular color wheel. For 2017, you will see mismatched bridesmaids dresses in an array of colors from the same color palette to complement the décor.
Sequins aren’t just for Christmas and NYE weddings anymore! Sequins are glamming up weddings for any season, and is the perfect way to add a little sparkle into your wedding day! There are so many ways you can add sequins: from your bridesmaids dresses to your décor, the options are endless!
Metallics are still hot for 2017, and my favorite trend...like, ever! What’s not to love about a color palette that is so versatile, and can add the perfect romantic touch to any wedding! Again, this is one trend that you can incorporate several ways into your wedding. From your shoes, to the bridesmaids to your invitations—endless ideas! Check out our previous blog post, Mixed Metallics—which is filled with color palette inspiration of Gold, Silver, Copper, and Rose Gold.
Over the past few years, there has been quite a bit of backlash of guests snapping pictures during the ceremony, and the photographers missing an awesome shot. As a result, the photographers must do quite a bit more editing. I remember a wedding I went to recently, and you couldn’t hardly see the bride walking down the aisle because the guests were trying to take pictures. That meant the groom couldn't see his bride walking to him, y'all! You’ve spent a good amount of money on your photographer, so make sure you get the most out of your pictures! We are seeing more and more weddings put out a sign at the entrance of the ceremony saying “Unplugged Wedding”. The couple asks the guests to not take pictures during the ceremony. Guests will honor the couple's wishes and do just that—remain “unplugged” to soak in the moment with you.
Calligraphy is hot right now, and so many weddings have large mirrors and chalkboard signs swirled with gorgeous calligraphy. The point of calligraphy is to focus on the words and the font—no colors or pictures. Think about displaying your “Unplugged Ceremony” sign; or your names and wedding date in calligraphy. Take it a step further, and have your menu and place settings written out in calligraphy!
The gorgeous, soft color palette of watercolors are perfect for a Spring or Summer wedding! From décor to cakes to invitations, the options are endless to incorporate the trend. It adds a whimsical touch to to your day!
