Now that you have that sparkly new rock on your finger, it’s time to start planning! I remember being so excited, yet so overwhelmed on all the things that I needed to book. Start by reading our previous post, Six Things You Need to Do After Getting Engaged.
Luckily, my sister was just as excited as I was, and she helped me narrow down what I needed to book first. Being the Rockstar Matron of Honor she was, she scheduled the initial appointments for me. She was the best. Everyone should have a Matron/ Maid of Honor like her.
Now that I’m in the wedding industry, I’ve learned that booking wedding vendors quickly is important—especially if you want the best of the best in your area. So, what should you book first?
The very first thing you need to book is your venue. To have a wedding date, you must book a venue. You can’t book any of your other vendors without having a venue and a wedding date. Your venue sets a theme for your wedding day, so think about the vision you have in your head.
After you’ve locked down your date, book your wedding planner. Your wedding planner will help you book the best team possible for your wedding date. She’s your BFF during the planning process. Trust me, you need a wedding planner.
Photographer and Videographer
It’s important to book your photographer and videographer as soon as possible, because these vendors book fast. If you love their photos and their wedding films, many other brides will too! Book your favorites fast so you don’t miss out on having them capture your wedding day. After the wedding day is over, you have your pictures and wedding film to look back on to remember the day. Don’t wait to call us to book your wedding videographer! Our videographers are booking fast for 2017, and are starting to book for 2018. Centerpieces become the focal point of your ceremony and reception. Your wedding planner and florist will work with you on the design of your bouquets and centerpieces.
Some venues require for you to use their in-house catering. If that’s not something your venue requires, you need to narrow down your favorite catering vendors and book as soon as possible. The most delicious caterers book quickly!
The most delicious cake bakers book fast too, so set up your tastings now and book!
You may think that you can wait to book your DJ. Wrong! Music can really make or break a wedding reception, so you want to invest in a DJ company that is going to help get the party started. Popular DJs book fast, so don’t wait to book. We are booking fast for 2017, and we are beginning to book for next year for DJ services! Click here for more information about DJ services.
What are you waiting for? Contact your favorite wedding vendors, and get to booking! Once these vendors have been booked, you’ll be relieved that this important step in the wedding planning process is complete.
