Usually at a wedding reception there is a separate Father and Daughter and Mother and Son Dance. Some couples may choose to combine the two dances together.
Every now and then, we have a bride and groom combine the two dances together—and it really does have a few advantages! First, you’re saving time in your reception for a little more dancing at the end of the night with your wedding guests. Second, you’re not the only people on the dance floor. If you are thinking of combining the dances together, both of you need to talk to your parents and make sure they are ok with sharing the moment. If it’s ok with them, then it’s time to pick the perfect song to combine the two dances together!
Combining the dances can be tricky. Sometimes there are just songs suited for only a father and daughter or a mother and son to dance together, and then sometimes magic happens and you find the perfect song to combine the two dances!
